Iran Claims Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
