Loyal followers of the pop star are demanding that a person who jumped a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.
A circulating footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway flanked by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by event staff.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account features clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last December.
"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.
Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented a further comment on Instagram.
Several supporters also criticised security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.
Numerous of supporters had assembled in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as eight hours before it commenced.
The film, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the popular Broadway and West End production Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected relationship between two distinct sorceresses.
The production itself is a spin-off of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, earning a pair for best costume and set decoration.
