Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Face Members of Parliament's Grilling Following Assertions of Prejudice in Unauthorized Memo

Former British Broadcasting Corporation advisers testifying before MPs

We start with inquiries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who oversees the committee.

She opens by giving context to the disclosed memorandum written by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the BBC tilting this way or that way, I simply desire it neutral, unbiased and just," he states.

Upon being questioned if he considers the BBC is systematically partial, he replies: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is exceptional - encompassing factual and fictional programming."

However, he continues: "There is real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second former external BBC adviser questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it operates a "persistent practice and active debate" regarding dynamic and complex subjects.

"Was the BBC willing to conduct a genuine dialogue and exchange and act accordingly?" she questions. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
