Administration Accused of Attack on Freedom of Expression Following UK Reporter Held

A major Islamic civil rights group has accused the current leadership of a “blatant insult to freedom of expression” following federal border officials detained UK reporter Sami Hamdi this past Sunday.

This body stated that Hamdi was held at San Francisco International airport facility due to condemning Israel’s ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip. The journalist is part of a group of persons who have been detained and removed by immigration enforcement for sharing pro-Palestine opinions.

Federal authorities announced that the journalist’s travel visa had been revoked, and that he was in custody “pending removal.”

ICE Detains UK Reporter After Criticism of Israel

UK reporter Sami Hamdi was said to be held over the weekend by border officials at a major US airport, and the organization asserts that this move is clear reprisal for the Muslim analyst’s statements of Israeli actions while touring the US.

Comments from the organization labeled it was “an obvious insult to freedom of expression” to detain Hamdi for speaking out against the Israeli current military operations in the Gaza region while he engaged on a US tour. A government representative added in a additional statement that Hamdi is facing deportation.
